Want to learn how to be a Good Greek Cook?
Join the Greek Cooking Challenge!
They say that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.
But that’s not very helpful when you have just married a Greek man and you don’t know how to cook Greek food! It is important that you learn the secrets to cooking traditional Greek Food (quick smart) or you might find that your husband will compare your food to…. his mother’s cooking!
I recently wrote a blog post about How To Be A Good Greek Cook and I made a New Year’s Resolution for 2014 to dedicate time to research recipes and practise cooking one new Greek dish each month.
Join me in the #GreekCookingChallenge and learn how to cook good Greek food.

GREEK COOKING CHALLENGE
Step 1: Sign Up
Sign up by clicking this link: JOIN THE GREEK COOKING CHALLENGE
You will receive a monthly email about the upcoming dish for the #GreekCookingChallenge.
The first dish will be Vasilopita for the 1st of January – New Years Day Cake but you can start with any of the recipes that we have on the recipe list.
Step 2: Get The Recipe
Each month, I will select a new Greek dish to cook for the #GreekCookingChallenge.
The recipe for the dish will be posted here on the blog and also on Facebook.
If you sign up for the challenge then you will also receive the recipe directly to your email (so be sure to sign up today!)
Step 3: Cook
Now this is the important part. Our lives can get so busy these days. We have lots of stuff to do so it is really important that you make time to cook!
The only way that you are going to practise your Greek cooking is if you plan ahead for it. Mark a date down in your diary, plan it, shop for it and decide to actually go ahead and cook it. Practise makes perfect and we all have to start somewhere. Let’s start with one dish at a time.
After one year of the #GreekCookingChallenge you will have practised 12 new dishes. That is a great start to becoming a Good Greek Cook!
Step 4: Take a Pic and Share it
Share your photos with us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Remember to use the hashtag #GreekCookingChallenge.
Step 5: Eat!
Now this is the most fun part… you need to actually eat your food!
Taste it… share it… give some to your husband and your kids or your family and your friends.
If you think it’s good enough, then maybe you can offer some to your mother in law to 😉 hahaha.
Step 6: Share Your Secret to Win a Prize
Share your cooking secrets with us and you will go in the chance to win a prize.
Each month, I will give away a prize to the person who submits the “best cooking secret” for the Greek dish that we are cooking. You might like to suggest tips about:
- which ingredients to use / or not to use
- what brand works the best
- how to plate up the food and serve it in creative ways
- how to decorate the dish
- a story about why you are making the dish or a traditional story about your family that relates to the dish
- or anything else that you think might help me to learn how to be a “Good Greek Cook!”
Sounds Like Fun? Well, then what are your waiting for…
